Today, for the first time in my life I quit my job

I feel very happy (refer to any of my older rants), yet i also feel very sad because in spite of all the quirks, it’s a great place to work with super nice people whom I feel like have become a big part of my life in such a small period of time

I very much doubt I’ll ever find a company like this again with such a relaxing atmosphere but I have to think about myself and my career ..

I’m especially incredibly sad about leaving one of my colleagues as he has become one of my best friends these past few months..

Let’s just hope I made the right decision ..

Heads up buddy. Maybe you wont but it sounds like you wouldnt have been challenged enough at that workplace. Just think about the exciting new challenges in a new company. Who knows maybe one day you find an even better one!

Unless your DNA is mingling w/Charlie Manson's, trusting your heart and always taking care of yourself first, will always lead to more understanding.

So you traded happiness at the job for...opportunistic heuristic gains that may or not may happen?

You are aware that a job where you like to work is a needle in a haystack. You are excused you were grossly undervalued or the place was in a very annoying position, otherwise you may have made a mistake

also, Friends are not property of the company. You can keep them regardless of your employment!

While you're in it, you hate it.

While you're out of it, you question your decision on leaving.

I'd say that's a relatively human response, the feeling of regret. Just remind yourself, why did you leave in the first place? The workplace wasn't moving at the pace you wanted it to? Some of your colleagues were annoying? Whatever the case, I'm sure you made the right choice.

@BurnoutDV (very) outdated tech, least challenging job i can imagine as a dev, poor pay, boss never listens to any of my ideas, ... the list goes on, so in the end i dont actually think i made a bad choice.

I am in the exact same shoes as you. I've transfared to another school this year because the previous one had two professions at the same time, one was not challangeing at all (IT),
and I was just stupid for the other one... I had great friends and I really liked the atmosphere. Now I have time to focus on my profession but I don't have any friends here.

Anyway, heads up and merry christmas, It'll get better in time :)
