Bug report reads: "The fireworks bound to the Thumbstick button can be detonated too rapidly encouraging the players to abuse the function which will lead to them prematurely wearing down their hardware. We recommend applying cooldown of three seconds to mitigate that.
Even though rapidly touching the screen to detonate the fireworks works the same way, it doesn't fall under this requirement."

...the fix came in. The solution? Detonations via touching the screen have a cooldown now, while the Thumbstick button works just as it had before. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!!!!!!

Some people really don't care 😂

@whimsical Or... they have problems reading simple instructions.

At least one of us is living the dream as a game dev 😅

But people incapable of reading are everywhere 😄

but if they wear down more hardware we can sell more hardware... unrealistic!

@Lensflare > 'But people incapable of reading are everywhere'.

    Very true.

@jestdotty True. For all I know he's a shill for the controller companies.

...nah, most likely either just read what he wanted, or dove into the wrong code fragment.

    @D-4got10-01 oh

i didn't know your company didn't sell custom controllers or something

it's just weird you would try to remove control-schemes that might wear down a user's hardware... like that's kind of not your problem, tehe

(or your parent corp might be in partnership with the controller providers and incentivized across the board, to bring in an analog from other sectors)

@jestdotty Well, no, while it is technically true the guy has some side-gig w/ selling controllers or something, I'm you know... 99.9% sure he isn't.

More importantly, though, even if unwritten, those are still the rules for platforms. /* At least some of them, anyway. */ so that you don't prematurely age the hardware.

Kind of like the thing about !prematurely aging storage space by excessively writing to it. That's quite important for any flash-based storage, like SSDs or SD Cards.

@D-4got10-01 I forgot tech used to have ethics. must be a leftover

they used to care about their reputation of longevity. now instead we blame users when they don't like yet another app redesign in 6 months, telling their users that they're wrong in their opinions and psychologically they'll get over it, our studies say so!

@jestdotty Indeed, people used to care a bit more a few hardware generations ago. Still, as long as there are people like me caring about the users' experiences, we should be fine.

...we do need a sledgehammer every now && then to get our point across, though.
