So haven't been on devRant in awhile but it's a new year and I definitely have some new goals. For starters, I'm building my first LFS system (on phase 2 of my toolchain atm), which I thought would be way over my head. Apparently, all these arch experiences have paid off xD I've always wanted to truly understand what went on under the hood of linux and maybe after going through this over and over I'll at least understand a little more.

Have fun! I did a couple of LFS builds (needed to try a few times to get it right, fucking proprietary drivers - they still were in everything back in the day, especially laptops), but never one that would be actually usable and maintainable.

It's on my list for 2019 though.

@ilPinguino yeah, so far I haven't had a single issue.. and that doesnt seem right xD I'm having a lot of fun with it so far tho.

@konicm8ker It's probably easier today than it was 7 years ago when I tried - there's just more free drivers available.

It might also depend on the manufacturer and the age of the hardware. A 2010 Fujitsu Siemens Laptop surely isn't something to be building on unless it's off and we're talking Lego.

Still, it was fun (the "Dwarf Fortress"/"The Incredible Machine"/"Opus Magnum" kind of fun is the best fun to be had).
