You can check on what is in newer versions via https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/... and not wait on some clickbate site to repeat it.

If you kill notify and windows update in services.msc its work? Never try that

@irene I know, but every time I do the manual update, it wipes out the group policy changes I made and turns auto updates back on.

@irene weird. Maybe it was a specific update or something wrong with my local policy. I switched to Linux as my daily driver a year ago so I don't even really use Windows much any more.

@jak645 that does work, but you only have to stop Windows Update, not Notify.

There is already a pause option, and it is longer than 7 days.
