Yes, it's called "find & replace" :D other than that I'm affraid no such thing is available, which sometimes makes me angry too because I studied English in the British standard. Wherever I went, there was some mix between British and American, so... my English is now something in between and none of those at the same time. Ah. :(
-
All languages I've came accros are Americanised. I'm very use to it now. I even prefer their spelling, it makes a lot of sense.
-
And that is why we use an autocomplete editor. Try using brackets. Or better, write a script which makes changes to your file (changes 'colour' to 'color' in this case) after you save it

I hate American English with a passion, especially it's creep into UK/Hiberno English on the Internet.
However, when coding it doesn't bother me at all. My mind must see it as syntax rather than language, bypassing the rage neurons. :) -
@kshep92 When you realise that color was originally the British form of the word and the Brits changed it out of spite for the American Yanks just to be "different" it makes for a fantastic laugh! Brits, always good for a laugh!
-
British English words are partially derived from French-Latin. Americans change these French-Latin words so that they are spelled the way they are spoken in English. Trust me, I've lived in both countries for years.
-
@JavaRules So have I, but that does not take away from the historical fact that the Brits changed the dictation from Color to Colour just to be different from the Americans. In fact the word color and its use in British English predates the the declaration of independence by the Americans by many centuries. The Brits have a tendency to over complicate and over tariff just about anything with their endless bureaucracy, laws and rules which are always limiting you in one way or another to keep you within the acceptable margin of the society. Whereas with the Americans, or at least the majority of them, you know where you stand and tariffs and laws are there for a reason and can always be replaced with a shorter, more meaningful and more efficient one down the line. But over here in the UK once it is written its kind of set in stone, especially if it is coming down from the monarchy!

@AshMountDigger They were too busy figuring out which side of the road they should drive on! Not that they could have won even if they poured all their resources into it, which funny enough they did lolz!
-
unjx20188yI don't hear any French, Spanish, Italian et al people complaining...
HTML, CSS, JS, Python etc...are all unique languages that have their own syntax...you have to learn the languages to make use of them. -
Knossos5278yPerhaps you should implement continuous integration that Americanifies your code on commit.
-
@codeRetard I agree completely, the UK change aluminum to aluminium just so it would rhyme with the rest of the periodic table. Not to mention the amount of words that are derived from popular brands which took the meaning of the actual thing.
-
MaccaMc5528yI'm British, but after a few years you do get used to it. Makes your code shorter I guess :)
-
skanna3448yI'm sorry, but like @unjx said, no foreign is complaining, I'm personally Italian and I had to learn it in the hard way, I learnt to code before being able to speak English, and I've never complained once...
-
@skanna It's a British thing mate, they like to complain and nag about pretty much anything which is not their own or their version of doing things, trust me I live here!
-
skanna3448y@codeRetard I do too man, and London gives me the impression people are always up for complaining lol

Is there an English (UK) option for writing CSS properties? I could never get used to writing "color" all the time 😧
