Being an expatriate, too far from my people..
Being an employee in a sucking company..
Being with responsibilities, husband, soon to be father..

All of this sometimes make me sad and not feeling well

I think life is getting hard for me.

    You must be strong to only feel sad "sometimes"

    If knowing you will be a father soon doesn't do it for you I don't know what will.

    @AleCx04 It is a good thing that I am waiting for, especially with my very beloved wife.

    The thing is, the responsibilities that come with it.. and I will not be able that free again to take risks by letting jobs go and go for another

    @irene yes it is great.
    Family, good relationships do really make life easier and worth to live.

    Yeah, with the responsibility of being a husband/father there wil regularly be moments of feeling down. Unfortunately life is a hard teacher, first giving you the exam and the lesson afterwards. The real challenge is to apply the lessons as well as you can, to grow, improve things and keep living forward without loosing yourself. That way, you'll ree, there will be many moments with a silver lining.

    *here endeth the sermon*

    Ps, this was written from the experience of 26 years being a husband, 21 years being a father (3 sons), and having worked for a few companies that, in hindsight, should better have been avoided

    Wait until you get the obligation to pay like a father, but don't see the children just like a single. That's how Western society sees the ideal role of a father.

    @Hansz thank you.

    and wow, 21 and father.. this is rare in this time.

    @lazyDev actually, it was 21 years experience as a father... I was 32 when my first son was born ... one of the most beautiful and scary moments I ever experienced in my life. The feeling of responsibility hit me like a hammer een I held him in my arms.

    @Hansz aah I got you now.

    And how things are going out with you?
  • 1
    @lazyDev Yeah ... can't complain really. Off course there is things I would like to be different and with kids of 21, 20 and 16, the small worries have changed into bigger worries, but all in all life ain't bad. :)

    @lazyDev You're welcome any time ... if you ever need advice or just to blow some steam , just poke me :)

    @irene As corny as it might sound ... 'You get so much in return", but I guess you'll have to experience it, to know/feel the truth in that simple statement :)

    @lazyDev ... It might feel that way at first, but believe me when I tell you that things will 'get better' (for lack of a better word).

    I have a wife, a toddler, and a baby. Life is hard sometimes, but I wouldn't trade the experience for anything.

    @irene personally, I love it. But I don't think its for everyone, nor do I think it should be for everyone.

    I am turning 31 this year and I am father of two sons. one is 3 1/2 the other turned 1 year this month. It's not always fun especially if you don't get good sleep but it really is true that they give so much love back. The important thing is to notice these times and live them to the fullest. For me it took some time after the birth of my first son until I really felt happiness. And as draining it can be I love to be a father. Wish you luck!
