    @C0D4 thats what I thougt. And It's somehow weird. I would be maybe irritated if someone i talk would pronounce it like this :)

    @rutee07 Okay, I just pronounced it always like i would if it would be a singel word. Without the context of the word charakter.

    But with the the context of your mother tongue given, it's understandable.

    @ftechhelp more of an arrrr and varchar becomes var-arrr. Great for 19th September

    It's a /kĘ°/ sound because it stands for "character". Just like GIF is pronounced with a hard 'g' because it stands for _Graphics_ Interchange Format.
