@irene first time I’ve seen him do this. He was singing/licking his reflection as he fell asleep. Wasn’t out for long before readjusting position, maybe 10 seconds. No different than falling asleep in front of bathroom mirror.

I was already in position with my camera to get a shot of him sleeping on the corner.

I've never seen a bird sleep lying down. Ever in nature or pet of mine or zoo. I think you better give him a little nudge but prepare yourself first.

@toriyuno I really like it. best laptop I've ever had honestly. soooooo thin and light, yet still such a beast in terms of performance and specs. plus I love doing graphic design and stuff just as a hobby so the fact that it flips all the way around into tablet mode, plus the stylus is super awesome. only downside is, I haven't been able to get the fingerprint reader to work under Linux; I've tried Ubuntu Budgie, Elementary OS, POP!_OS, and Debian. I think I might try to install hackintosh on it next.

@root this is the most special parakeet I've had so far. His temperament is exceptionally gentle. He hasn't even bit me during nail clippings.

When I move between rooms, he legit flies to my shoulder for a taxi ride.

@spoonsearch It's an identification band. It has the breeder's company initials (arbitrary), year, and the band number engraved on the outside.

Smaller bands like those for budgies (parakeets) or finches can have less info, while larger bands (macaws, eagles) usually have more.

There are GPS bands, too, but those are considerably larger. You usually only find them on eagles, penguins, etc.
