Rhel Vs Amazon Linux? For any who have experienced both? Or either

It's CentOS 7 - almost.

I think the rpm packages are called from an amazon repo instead of the normal RHEL repos but other than that I honestly haven't noticed any significant difference.

@C0D4 so epel and the like would work without modifying scripts?

I'm a big fan of RH/CentOS, but if you're moving to AWS and can make AmazonLinux work, I think you should go with it. It should be fine-tuned to work perfectly on aws.

However this is just my assumption. Don't really have any hands-on xp w/ A-Linux.
