yarwest26658y@kanduvisla true, but it just feels bad when it's a small bugfix or something. I guess it's some sort of imposter syndrome
-
Gostwow3388y@yarwest we all know you do it for the numbers haha è_é
But on a serious note, I think there is more important metrics than just number of commits and lines added -
Do people even look at how many commits other people make? I know I don't, feels kinda useless :P
-
yarwest26658y@LucaScorpion I do a lot, since I want to make sure I'm contributing enough/pulling my weight
-
@yarwest I rather to check that by looking at the issues everyone's working on, but I get your point

codelis10518y@LucaScorpion i do look at other peoples commits if I'm handed over control over a legacy project. This happened quite recently, and I noticed that the last 2 people who worked on this only had about 30 commits over a couple of months each, so of course i think "woah, those must be massive commits every time.."
turns out they're all quite small commits (like 100 lines changed max), and the truth is that not much has happened on this project for a while..
thx guys.. -
hell165968yI have like 5 times more commits than my team combined... They don't understand very well the benefits of commits relevant to each change.

I feel bad when I commit too often, especially for little stuff. I'm afraid people will think I just do it to get a higher number of commits :/
