i've heard netflix has a anarchy culture, each dev can use what stack he likes but you have to deliver results or you get fired quickly.

Netflix also has a ton of great engineering behind it, they're not exactly your typical webdevs.

@RantSomeWhere This looks like more clueless journalism. It takes serious tech to push that kind of traffic around. I'm not saying they're not using Python or that it's not important, just that there's a lot more to it than importing numpy or whatever.

I personally value more of the algorithms used rather than programming language used for the application. Stream data compression and big data is what secure you the job, python programmers there're plenty, people who study algorithms are rare.
