I need to create a couple of websites real quick, mostly brochure style...
I don't normally do this, but, in this case, I have to.
I'm a programmer though, not a designer

What would you recommend for someone like me, that's fast, but reilable

All I can think of, is wordpress but that's a dirty word around here (for seeminglyg ood reason)

anything else?

    @C0D4 mostly static

    Google has a drag and drop tool for website building if the content is static. It's far better than WordPress. Good customization, easy to use. Try it and lemme know how it goes.
    The link is sites.google.com

    Nothing wrong with using WordPress if it does the job you want it to though. If it saves time and effort overall I'd say it's worth it. Also it's really good for brochure type stuff.

    The hatred for WordPress is when developers try to make it do things that it wasn't designed to do like ecommerce, inventory control etc.

    For simple sites like brochure sites and.... erm blogs.... then WordPress is perfect. Just keep it up to date and be careful which plugins you install

    Had October CMS recommended to me yesterday. Laravel based so should be more palatable to traditional Devs than WordPress. Don't get me wrong I use WordPress quite a bit but I will be looking at OctoberCms looks pretty good.

    Why would ANYONE advise for a full blown online CMS for fucking STATIC CONTENT? The maintenance cost alone will fuck you over until even your toes bleed!

    The only reason to use WordPress for that is if it has to be done dirt cheap and the maintenance cost accrue with someone else so that you don't care about the shithole you created.

    I posted a comment on a different toxic rant calling out that OP and it somehow ended up on here.
    Deleted it but sorry if you saw that OP!
