You need external motivation. Works wonders.

You can try doing something like "alright I'm not gonna do it today, but I'll start and finish it tomorrow" and then only write down all necessary steps to do the thing and do say 33% of the thing you need to do and then you can switch back to your side project or whatever you procrastinate with.
