Also, I must say (probably just because of my age) that I don't think that using garbage collected languages is bad. Is using a self driven car bad? Having a tool and insisting on not using it is just being stubborn. I don't say low level programming is bad but don't use the wrong tool to a problem you can solve in a simple way

GC is not evil. Programmers losing grasp of memory is. GC does that to wanna-be-programmers. Their code executes, they think they are God, they develop something that runs poorly, not because it uses GC, but because they don't understand GC
