I love the OS wars posts... Completely pointless but I really enjoy pissing off Windows fanboys

I wouldn't bother if they didn't try so hard to sell me on their system...

I'm a Windows user who wishes to open his door to Mr. Penguin.

Wall-E!! It grows on you after a while.

    Linux.

Windows is old, still alive but barely breathing.

Osx is great as well, but too expensive to afford mac

@juneeighteen now you seem like a reasonable Windows fan to me...

@KuroTenshi67 we're happy to help... For a quick introduction, check out running a distro (Linux has many 'distributions', or software packages running on top of the standard, bare-bones Linux kernel) on a virtual machine... I'd recommended Ubuntu because it's well-supported and very beginner friendly

    Arch Linux ❤️

Wall e was the only one who did is job for thousands of years after he went out of support.

Eve wouldn't have git any work done if it wasn't for wall e.

Terminator keeps trying, but always fails.

Sums up the os wars fairly well...

@ReturnVoid Thanks for the tip. Yet I've already tried to run Ubuntu on my computer, but due to the very weak storage capabilities of my computer (32 GB, you can mock me, it's the computer I use for my studies and projects), I end up with a version of Ubuntu that runs not well, and where I couldn't do much except the average activities on a computer (file viewing, navigating through the web...)
I must wait to afford myself a computer that has better capabilities. That would also allow me to develop more concrete practise with a good compiler for C++ or Python, at least one of them.

@Dittoslash "windows for everyday usage" = crashed after five minutes running.

Plus the list if unfixed bugs inherited from win8 through win 10 is long. And now the new blue screen of the death seems more like a new feature.

Not sure with windows will last 10 other years

@KuroTenshi67 32 GB for the entire hard drive? What version of Windows are you running on that? Is it a tablet?

If your computer really is that limited, a VM probably isn't feasible

Running Win10 on this laptop. It's an Archos 140 Cesium with Intel Quad Core 1,33 GHz.
    Yeah, not much indeed.

@ReturnVoid I'd send out a voice clip of my opinions on your post, but you probably wouldn't be able to hear it.

Windows is great, it's just user error that fucks it up

@drRoss what is your doctorate in?
  • 0
@ReturnVoid The dr stands for DevRant! It's a naming convention I use for most websites so I can't forget my username.

@drRoss ah OK... I was going to say that I haven't seen too many doctors working in tech support

@ReturnVoid Tech support. Thanks for slightly undermining my job.
