Technically not true. Electron is open source, so this could have been anyone.

I thought they built vs code in part or specifically to open up to the Linux / Mac community...

That's what I heard on a podcast interview with the lead Dev or pm or something a year ago... I still don't use it...

@amcorrigal They did, but it's based on Electron which Atom is also based on. Electron itself is Open Source.

VS Code has Vim emulation.
