Mind you, if the character would wear actual chainmail and not bikini chainmail they probably would not.
For most games it is a feature (sadly) not a bug.

    Is it an issue?
  • 3
@Pickman how is bikini chainmail a sadly feature?
  • 8
Well that is my goto reasoning aswell, on the other Hand, most games i play are technically "role plays". Its an adventure, and i bloody well dont want to experience in the sorry hull that is my own body. If i can be a self-confident strong indepedent amazonian fighter-mage woman then i be one. The other gender is kinda fascinating so playing as it might be a valid choice.

that and 3d butts got a lot better in the last few years, although i steer away from Bikini-Chainmail. A pair of nice leather pants or a body hugging Magerobe are also nice. Bonus points for flower patterns Kappa

I never liked 3rd person shooters and stuff.

Much time was wasted explaining people of how the player character obstructed the view, how aiming was more difficult "over the shoulder" and other nonsensical reasons when in truth I'd just been extremely forward thinking.

In 3d person games, you can see your player character. When you can pick your pc's gender, male players pick female chars so they can stare at their buttocks for hours and hours. Thus, 3rd person games objectivise women and promote sexism.

    Little did I know. 😆

    i like it

@AleCx04 it significantly lowers the percentage of women in the game.

men at their finest? sorry for having a sexuality, ya dry cunt
  • 2
Is this true? Do men usually choose female characters? I don't think any of my friends do that.
  • 6
Hell yeah what we need is complete and utter segregation between the sexes and races. That's the ticket

Why to do so much of hardwork when you can visit pornhub😂
  • 3
@Pickman ah yes, because women were significantly represented in the army in the chainmail era

    Seriously, man?

i think this gender politics cult bullshit started being tiresome like 10 years ago.

also, i pick girls in multiplayer games to get free stuff from guys when they assume i'm an actual girl, or just to experiene people's nicer side in communication, the one they use towards girls.
  • 1
oh, and in singleplayer games i sometimes pick girls when i want to make myself be more emotionally invested and cautious while playing, because having a female character makes me much more protective of its health. my guydude in dark souls died because i recklessly dragged him into stupid situation? "oh, well, lol". my girldude character died in the same situation? "i'm sorry, i knew that situation was stupid, i shouldn't have dragged you into it :("

@arcsector so what is the argument there? That if they would they would've had bikini armor? That my argument is invalid because of historical accuracy?
My argument is that bikini armor is meant to be sexy exactly for that reason. If all woman options were visually unappealing to them guys would not pick them. It's a good thing? A bad thing? I don't know and I don't care to be honest.
I'm just a bit concerned that it might possibly be pushing away a segment of customers from games.

@Pickman your reason for negging bikini armor was: "it significantly impacts the percentage of women in the game". My statement (wasn't really an argument), was to show thats a bad reason for negging bikini armor. Also your statement about women IN the game wasnt clear you were referring to women PLAYING the game.

To your statement about bikini armor impacting women playing the game, are you really that yound that you really think that women dont buy things because there's sexy women in them? Literally look at any commercial directed at women, and you'll see that your statement is just wrong. They all feature a model or prominent female figurehead (preferably in a sexy pose).
  • 2
@arcsector well, the only ads I can think of that are directed at women only are things like tampons, because sexy thing are very often gifts made to them by boyfriends so they have to appeal both segments.
Anyway on this concern I concede. Sexy women appeal to women too, because they like the idea of being sexy. Nudity could still be a concern perhaps.

It's not our fault women are so fkn hot \(°∆°)/

Female in PUBG because people hesitate for a split second longer. Long enough for me to get the drop on them sometimes.
  • 2
I once heard that younger guys choose male characters, because they still need to find their personal male role in society and they are searching for inspiration somehow. Later when they're fine with being a buy they choose female characters because they are interested in girls

So... is no one gonna question the fact her main question starts with "Why do people [...]", but her poll target only consists of a male audience?

Why not ask whether women pick male avatars or not and if yes, why? The question is only halfly answered, the author looks content of that half-answer and that bothers me.

    @nano99
    Well, look at me!
Or did I swap my gender??
