Thoughts on new Surface devices?

I'm particularly impressed with Surface Neo as a light weight laptop on the go.

I could see myself buying the next generation of Surface Duo, looks promising than other dual screen devices I have seen.

Both the Nwo and Duo looks really, really promising. I'm actually happy to see that Microsoft is working together with Google on this one. Having the choice is always good.

@ScriptCoded having a choice? Now there is android. If it was windows then there would have been a choice.

@Codex404 I think it's better that they gave up on Windows Phone, especially since I lost confidence in them for their poor handling of Windows 10 features.

Neo and Duo gives a hopeful future. Maybe they have plans to make the OS run on Neo to be compatible for phone features.

About apps, I don't know if they have any chance in that unless they get along with Android or the new cross platform frameworks like Flutter.

UWP is dead, it seems. I don't see any demand for that at all.

I was hoping for a Surface Go 2, because I'm looking for a small, lightweight, affordable Windows tablet with attachable keyboard. Sadly this is the one thing they *didn't* present. ☚ī¸

The Neo might be an alternative, though. I love the movable magnetic keyboard, but am worried it might feel cramped. Returned a small bluetooth keyboard just the other day. I need something full-sized.

All in all, I'm impressed by Microsoft's devices. This sounds weird, but the new hardware feels like an Apple lineup. Back in the day Steve Jobs said "Microsoft has no taste" - now look at this beautiful hardware, serviceable by removing just four screws, no need for a million adapters, etc. The only thing I genuinely dislike are those "pop sockets" earbuds.
