Qubes, because I like its approach.

@saucyatom cool . That's an unique answer . I was expecting the first one to be sayin arch coz its on hyp

@arupam arch can go suck my balls, I got better things to do than to constantly work on keeping my computer usable.
  • 3
@saucyatom yeah i agree on that . I mean whenever distro question comes arch peeps are at front .
    Like yo arch here
  • 6
Debian. It's stable and compatible with basically everything except bloody wifi.

Like @saucyatom, I also like Qubes' approach. I might go with that one next, or I might try Gentoo; I haven't decided. Maybe even Arch, but probably not. I want to move away from systemd because it's a gigantic pile of crap.

Ubuntu. Only been in this world for a year or so :)

@Root yeah debian is pretty stable . I haven't been on it but i have use ubuntu for quite a bit but i ll move coz snap always got some issues .
  • 1
@torbuntu yeah i ll try it once . I was planning to do so .
  • 2
@ScriptCoded same i have been on it since long but i guess i ll move to other because of issues with snap . I ll try some other distros with other package managers.
  • 2
@torbuntu but your name says you are ubuntu fan 😂
  • 3
    Mint and Arch.
  • 5
CentOS, because that's the version installed on the servers at work.
  • 2
i use artix, because arch but without systemd
  • 1
@GodlikeBlock is it easier to install than arch ?
  • 4
    Artix-OpenRC,
because I somewhat like Arch, but don't want to suck Poetterings dick.
  • 3
@metamourge I hope that guy gets run over by a bus. Once per component.

Back to Debian since Debian 10. Always used Ubuntu as it was more up to date (I'm one of those people who updates everything to latest/greatest obsessively), but Debian 10 is fine really. Only thing that sometimes is tricky is Tensorflow on my GPU. 50/50 it craps out or works fine on any given startup.

@Root May I point you towards Void Linux? It doesn't use systemd, and other things might interest you as well (e.g. its package manager).
  • 2
    @Jilano I'll look into it 😊

I've recently switched to Pop!_OS (or however it's stylized) for my work OS. I was looking for something Ubuntu-based because most Linux stuff works there without extra tinkering. Pop runs Gnome which I like, but brings nicer theme and improved power management. systemd-boot is also a nice touch.

@M1sf3t Well, if you needed a sign, that was it! Go forth, my son, for I am by your side.
  • 2
Kubuntu. Stable, Debian based and eyecandy!
  • 3
    I'll be that guy.

    I use Arch.

My experience with Arch over the last 2 years have been great. Nothing broke, everything just worked (tm). Sure, you can always live on the edge like @Haxk20 does but that's just silly.

@olback i want to install arch on my lappy but i don't have any Ethernet . I got only wifi but that too has login pages to access Internet idk when i ll be on arch :/

    > Mint with Cinnamon [main: lappy, work, pc]

beautiful, stable, snappy, UI self-detects crashes [if any] and suggests a way to recover, loads of packages.

    > Mint with xfce4 [netbook]

all of the above, except ui is simpler - atom w/ 2G ram seems a bit stubborn with cinnamon [and mate].

    > Ubuntu mate [rpi2/3]

to keep all that's good from ubuntu

    > raspbian 10 [rpi4, dashboard]

just because ubuntu mate is not yet ready for rpi4. Can't wait tho!

Arch since 2010. Still using the same installation as I can update it little by little when the need arises.

Ubuntu (Workplace + Laptop for Work) - No other Distro is supported so have to stick with it there but I can customize it as much as I want. Most of the used software is only available for Ubuntu or Debian if you don't want to go through much hassle.

Manjaro/Ubuntu/Win10 (Home PC) - Manjaro for that Arch feel, Ubuntu for when I feel like doing work on my pc rather than the laptop and Win 10 for gaming.

@Crowns ohh that's cool you are using a lot of oses. Btw which one do you prefer on laptop ubuntu or manjaro
  • 1
Elementary OS, mostly because if it's feel and consistency across applications, plus the mini app ecosystem is bloody amazing

@lxmcf i am waiting for it to come with Nvidia proprietary drivers included . Like ubuntu 19.10 .
  • 2
    Ubuntu, fedora, RHEL.
Always has worked out of the box, delivers what's necessary, job
  • 1
@arupam I would say Ubuntu at the moment. Haven't worked so much with Manjaro and I am more familiar with Ubuntu because I work with it every day an I feel more productive using it. But this is all personal preference.
  • 0
@Crowns yeah even i am more family with debian based ones than arch but cz of snap issues m leaving it
  • 2
Manjaro because thats what was on the pendrive when i bought my laptop
  • 1
Debian for me, it just works and i'm used to it.
  • 2
    Mint with Mate
I first tried Solus but it wasn't fast enough on my old laptop
