No. You can use bing, ddg, any other search engine besides google,... or the old fasioned way - read the docs. You don't need a search engine for that
-
You need pro skills at googling for any dev job.
The docs often don't exist, are outdated, misleading, badly organised, don't mention the gotchas, or the gap between the docs and how to actually use the described stuff is considerable. -
@Fast-Nop official docs outdated? Now I'm curious. Which project has this happened to?
-
@netikras Just the first hit I found with a Google search for contradictory docs: https://wordpress.org/support/...
And for smaller projects, especially open source, it's even worse because folks like to hack, but not to write docs. -
@Fast-Nop thanks :) Never thought an official product documentation could be outdated :D
-
No you dont have to know how to google to become them, but you are a educated idiot then. If you want to be good then yes you should know how to google stuff. (Or at least freaking want to try googling something...)
-
@netikras Hahaha thank you for that search engine part, only tapped the rant to say that 😄

For being a student and working as freelancer you need to be pro googler, otherwise you'll fail in both.
