I'm interested in them, too. There is a german website checking out newschool banks, and N26 got pretty bad ratings from customers there.
-
Wack63115yI think they analysed it at a CCC like one or two years back and it sucked donkey balls from a security perspective, however they promissed to improve that and work with researchers... So who knows, might be better now!

Revolut has a better app
But both are free anyways, just go and try them out, it won't cost you much ;) -

The N26 app and web portal work fine. There's enough client density in information technology students for using N26 ecosystem benefits. Outta there, barely anyone knows them.
Am using it in testing phase, because they're 'new' to the field.
Obviously they did their homework.
Like the symbols they're giving to each transaction. Must have a look, whether you can truly analyse your consumer behaviour. Will let you know.
Wouldn't give up the old skool bank for my 'state friendly' behaviour / government compliance and old payment structures in my country. -
I have heard something very negative, but it isn't a first hand experience:
Whenever there are problems, the customer service is hard to grasp - even in cases of illegitimate transactions, which lead to damages. This resultated the Bafin (federal control organisation for banks in Germany) to start an investigation, but I don't know any results. -
h4xx3r17165yFor me all this online-only Banks suffer from the same limitation, you can't put local physical money into the account, you have all the ATMs to withdraw with the given card, but to my understanding\experience there isn't the other way around.
Which sucks donkey balls.
Revolut user here. -
@h4xx3r Money? As in cash? Is this something people still do?
Unless you're in the mafia, why would you need to deposit cash? -
h4xx3r17165y@intromatt yes, cash, yes, they do.
Simple naive example, my grandma gifts me cash, I want to buy something online with them, if I had only, for example, Revolut as a bank, I could not use such money for such basic thing.
So for now I rely on local Banks that let me actually do such basic thing as put cash in my account. -
mojo20128145y@h4xx3r you can buy paypal giftcards to fill up ur account and then transfer it to ur account
-
@h4xx3r That's weird, and I live in Bulgaria.
I guess if you get random cash it's probably in your best interest to keep it outside of your bank. Buy gas, groceries, drugs..
