There's a uni here that teach c and c++ in the first year. Geez so many sadomasochist there

Funny, I'm the other way round. Make me use Java and I'll blow my brains out.

@RazorSh4rk that's funny. Java uses pointers almost exclusively. They just don't do pointer arithmetic.

I am currently taking C++ course.. Two things I have learned so far:

1) C++ is by all means superior to Java
2) It's damn tricky

Why is everyone confused over pointers? I actually find pointers quite intuitive to use.

Java forces you to use pointers everywhere to the point where you don't need the notion of it, it just is, an object is always accessed by "reference". And all of a sudden it's easy again?

After 3 days of using Java.

It was the other way for me, C++ just makes more sense for me I guess.
