I found one, but it's not terrific otherwise: qterminal. It works, but the window is decorated with lots of stuff that's specific to the app. I will keep looking, but this gives me hope.

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for!

There's a plugin for urxvt that allows keyboard search, selection, and clipboard handling, using vi-like navigation.
