Which phones do you recommend?
Which have given you the fewest problems?

I want something with custom rom support so i can add my own problems (duh) and to make it prettier. Apart from that, the only other deal breakers are a lack of wireless charging (I have children who break everything) and an awful screen. I'm not really picky about anything else, but I do want it pretty.

Anyone have a phone like this that they actually like?

I'll go out on a limb and say my Pixel 3 XL isn't for you lol

My daily driver is my iPhone XS Max, not had an issue with it. I guess you could jailbreak it, never tried myself

My dev phone is my OnePlus 5T, it’s fast, not had an issue with it. There should be some custom roms for the more recent models, the 5T isn’t that great for them

@err-occured I strongly considered the OnePlus 7 until I learned that it doesn't have a phone jack, ismt water resistant, and doesn't have wireless charging. So when my toddler pours water on it or yanks the cable out and breaks the connector, it's an expensive paperweight. 🙁

@Stuxnet I considered those, too. Great custom rom support, good specs. That Titan "security chip," though. I understand the motivation and reasoning behind it, but without being able to peer inside, it worries me.

I got it because pure Android is the best version of Android and the camera is nice

Plan on getting the P5 XL this fall as well. I fucked mine up with a screen burn in of the keyboard, the battery icon, etc. It's driving me insane, but I'm being patient to just get the 5 instead of the 4.

I hate the screen lag, read that as response time for gestures, in Android, so I use Apple instead, but it's not for everyone, Android has come along way but its noticeable enough to frustrate me.

@Root it's like $200 to fix it. At this point id rather pay a few hundred more and get the newer model lol

Go to Developer options and change the animation speed to .5x instead 1x. It seriously makes your phone seem so much faster

My Pixel 3a XL is an absolute retard with 64 gigs internal, USBOTG type C support , 4 gigs of RAM.
Wireless charging adapters work.
When unlocking flashing in fastboot it automatically erases all you user data without warning.

My Galaxy Note 9 is the best phone I've ever owned, hands down. Nearly perfect in every regard for me. Very long battery life, excellent performance, all even after nearly two years of ownership. Of course, it's an older model now, and it looks like updates are ceasing... but honestly, for the first time in probably close to a decade, I have basically no desire to upgrade. It does everything I want and does it well. There are definitely better phones on paper, but day-to-day, in my hand, hard to believe anything would beat this one in any substantial way.

Ninja edit: I just re-read that last sentence. Yikes. But, on general principle, I'm gonna leave it as-is.

Best phones for custom rom are pixel phones, i used Samsung, Sony and Nexus, Google phones had best support for custom romes especially CyanogenMod, now know as Lineage OS
