Fuck off you disturbed snowflakes with your SJW bullshit.

I get it, words cause damage, but words taken out of context for emotional self pity is on you.

Ok I expressed my feelings on the matter, see you next year for the next round!

    I'm just glad that a lot of the SJWs in this site are gone now. Back then, it's almost impossible to say anything without someone blowing things out of proportion.

    Also, it's downright wrong to cater to them because they will just pick the next thing to be "offended" about. They will never stop, and they don't ever contribute anything useful. Kicking them out of projects and banning them is the best response.

    Hey, if context is key, why don’t you... you know, give us some context?

    @123username a bunch of mindless SJWs demanded to replace such "offensive" terms as blacklist/whitelist, master/slave. A number of companies and projects heed their call.

    @rutee07 TBH I found this place a year ago. Signed up and was disappointed in the thin skin most users had.

    Only found it back again yesterday and I'm surprised, and happy, how strong the community is now.

    Great job to everyone!

    I would love to know how actual black people feel about this or of it is just white people imposing what they think they should be upset about 🤷‍♀️

    I'm pretend offended that you used the misnomer 'SJW' instead of the correct term 'crybully' :)

    @rutee07 SJW here?! O.o
    I've seen looooooads of rants that included bitching about SJW, but never saw anyone being buthurt here for real.. o.O

    @bonegarden if there's a genuine issue with these terms and I'm to "white" to see it, I'm all for listening, but all I'm seeing is an excuse to change society because some minorities think they hate you, while the majority couldn't give a shit and would rather get on with life.

    There's no slavery today... let me be clear on this. In first world countries outside of corporate greed and minimal wage jobs, but in terms of what 100+ years ago was this shit doesn't actually happen anymore, unless we count @Rutee07's dungeon sessions, but sure I'll recognise it still exists in developing countries, and their time will come when they rebel and change things, and these are the places where we should be making efforts to change things.

    The world is highly diverse now, and yet here we are arguing over things that don't directly impact our lives today, it's just minorities pushing their agenda's.
    Sure there's always going to be minorities on both sides, but fuck them, they'll die out eventually, life isn't eternal after all, Ideologies are taught not inherited.

    Wow, reading back through this I'm starting to sound racists, which is far from the truth. Skin colour means nothing to me, I couldn't care what race you are, what your beliefs are, just be a half decent human and we'll get along fine. You can have your views and beliefs, and I can have mine, the world doesn't need to end in civil war because of personal insecurities.

    At the end of the day, the world is what we make it, but changing a word is more censorship then it is fixing the problem.

    and making words more "restricted/taboo" only makes it worst.

    @C0D4 IMO I find the term master in reference to github or databases SUPER innocuous, but I have no idea what meaning it holds for other people or if it is a strong enough association that it needs redefining.

    If a large percentage of black coders on github conjure up a negative connotation when seeing it to the point of anger or discomfort, then I support the change. However the only people I see talking about it are white women (who are mostly and predictably thrilled, because of course they are) and white men (who unsurprisingly think it's a fucking joke)

    Like imo, it's all about catering to to the masses. If one black person doesn't like it, because they are an overly sensitive crybaby then fuck them, but if it really pisses of the majority I am all for it.

    I mean we don't use the n word anyway because of the negative connotation so 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

    @bonegarden for databases, we could use primary / secondary and still have the same meaning.

    I agree, I'm not seeing a majority thats actually offended, just noise making idiots who jump on the bandwagon.

    Someone feel free to prove me wrong.

    @bonegarden tbh I don't care if technical terminology is all changed to the word penis just so long as I know what it means.
    As a real SJW who's worked for years doing things that make a real difference, I prefer to focus on the real problems that affect peoples lives.
    Nit-picking over the imagined slight of what we call something on git is solely the realm of the privileged.

    Now as for the Master/Slave thing in virtualization.. that can go. Too BSDM

    Eh, it's kinda dumb, but then again, I couldn't give 2 shits what we call it and maybe other people do, so I'm gonna let them have it

    @sladuled They sometimes appear in the comments but so much now. I remember them driving away some ranters in the past because anything they say gets taken out of context and someone gets mad for no reason.

    The fact of the matter ultimately is, that I used to mind my own business and that was all.

    Now with all this bullshit happening Im starting to be actively racist... No one is going to tell me how to name my fkn branches, and Im going to use slave terminology now on all of my projects just to spite them.

    class CottonPicker extends FileStream;

    Screw you
