I love to work in pubs/bars, this special kind of noisy environment works so well for me. I even go "into the zone".

Lets talk about this. Is anyone else the same? Just curious.

These are my 6 reasons:

0) Beer. 🍺
1) None of the activity in a bar actually interests to me, if you know what I mean. In my house, every single noise/movement will get my attention.
2) After some time all the noise blends into a kind of "homogeneous hearing blurb". Like a mantra. Maybe there are even white/pink/brown noise benefits (guess).
3) I go to places where I enjoy the music and atmosphere.
4) I like bars and pubs anyways. I feel good in these places.
5) Beer. 🍺

I feel a similar way about studying in coffee shops (or the pub on campus). I know a lot of people prefer quiet, but that's almost too distracting. If there's this perfect level of noise, then you can't really focus on any of it, but it's still just non-distracting background.

    Definitely agree with you!

I often hear heavy metal 4 coding. I cant code with relax music or even without music.

@Mitch377 @linuxer4fun Me too. People at office even laugh because I often dev headbanging.

Im with you on that one! I find completely silent places harder to focus in because then the smallest noise you hear will really stand out and distract you. Public spaces with nice music and people talking together - but not to you - are the best for focusing!

My very favorite places are those hipster student coffee shops that offer coffee and have a beer and drinks menu at the same time... Best of both worlds!
