To everyone on here thinking about switching to Linux: don't be afraid. I dual-booted it with windows when I was 12 without any help, without any problems occurring during the installation whatsoever. As long as you know what you're doing and you do research, you'll be fine.

Saying you did it when you were 12 won't help when the average age here is 25 ++ (I'm guessing!).

    I'd be intimidated :-D

it's a matter of patience; when you feel the urge to punch your screen at a point, go punch a cushion, take a deep and slow breath 3 times, and dive deeper into man pages, you shall be fine :D as you start to get comfortable with bash, you start to wonder how you lived with windows for so many years, so it pays off.
