Does devRant depend on any Google services, sure as Google play services?

I'm trying to get Google out of my life, but would really like to keep devRant 😞

I suspect other than play store probably not

@teganburns (Disclaimer, except for my Android phone and the play store I don't use Google stuff) Well, Google tracks you around the web and sells user data in some ways for profit (advertisements), scans your emails for advertisements and participates in NSA's PRISM program and some other nsa programs so I'd say it's really bad for your privacy (someone who's trying to quit using Google as well) :).

devRant probably uses GCM (Google push notifications) for android at least

Relevant for me.

GCM is deprecated so I don't believe you can create new apps on there you have ever to use FCM (Firebase Cloud Messaging), for which you still need play services
