How can you tell if someone's a node.js coder?
Don't worry they'll tell you.

What do I dislike about node.js?
The fanboys.
Seriously you guys need to chill out. Your language is not the end of all other languages. It isn't going to replace PHP or Python or Ruby. It's not going to be the only thing around in 4 years.
I'm not a fan of JavaScript, I just don't like the language. I don't care about all the advantages and the other bs you're shouting about. If I want that feature I'm sure I can find a way to get it in my language.

    I have to agree we are freaking fanboys... It doesn't mean we hate/spit on every other language! I dislike php, but really like python btw!

    @Letmecode I'm picturing a post-apocalyptic world where one of the survivors finds a computer. As he/she dusts off the keyboard, only the ><+-.,[] characters have survived. Brainfuck has finally found its use.

    Anyone who develops a serious attachment to a programming language, needs to learn more languages.

    I've dropped my favourite language and replaced it with another many times, and hopefully future language design will enable that process to be repeated. Sentimentality has no place in a rational profession.

    Seriously you guys bitching about node. js, Angular, React and all the other frameworks should chill out.
    You're calling those people fanboys but you are doing the EXACT SAME THING by saying that "your language" is "better" or "has a proven track record"

    Use whatever you need or feel comfortable with, it's like arguing what spoken language somebody is using.
    "I don't like that person and the way they talk, now I don't like their language either". That shit is bananas.
