    This is a little thing I like to call fraud.

    @HiFiWiFiSciFi If it isn’t in writing, it’s not fraud.

    This was not good of the CTO, though. This is how people lose respect and then wonder why other people don’t respect them.

    I was supposed to get two bonuses and a raise. Thank god they will MAKE AN EXCEPTION and I will receive a ☝️ small bonus.

    Fuck, I need the money for studies which will commence next academic year and a raise would’ve meant, that my part-time work could’ve been paid better. Currently, I work as a full-time employee.

    @Cyanide I had lots of respect for the guy before, but now...

    I guess I have it in writing IF Teams chat is an option 🤦🏻

    @Cyanide

    A lot of law systems actually consider deals said to be as valid as written ones - only it's hard to prove them in a court.

    i feel you. stepped in this a few times. now i always insist on written and signed agreements.

    Let's create a pen that records every moment of your life and stores it encrypted. Then you'd be able to reproduce the moment in which the CTO told you this, then kindly remind them... then threaten them to post it on social media. If you're afraid this will hurt your relationship, post it when you leave the company.

    Or organize with your colleagues to demand a raise. Don't be afraid to speak about your salary!

    @Sasino97

    And try to get money from clients? nah, I'll pass

    That’s not cool, sorry that happened to you.

    @dfox Thanks 🙃

    And I'm angry because my boss wants to push me to work overtime and to pay me for that..

    to those who didn't register your previous rants, probably, this sounds like you still have 6 months to go until the promised raise date.
  • 2
    Yeah got bamboozled a few times with verbal promises. Never again.

    For anything related to salary or hiring, I will just assume that high management and HR people giving me promises without getting it on paper are just bullshitting, which they often do anyways.

    At least expectations are low and I will unlikely waste my time.

    @Sasino97 then you will hate having no buffer between customers and you.
