How do we feel about PCs on the floor?

    Not a problem, but you have to clean the dust out every once in a while.

    I don’t want Pancreatic Cancers lying on the floor.

    That’s where they belong when they misbehave! Which is all the time, so that’s where they go.

    Having it on the desk just because you want to look at it is a waste of desk space.

    Dust is not a problem if you have only filtered intakes unless your home has dust problems to begin with. Note that in a negative pressure system every hole is an intake.

    My PC is so huge and heavy that I'm afraid it would damage my desk.

    I have it sitting on a hard surface elevated a couple inches above the carpet, to keep the PSU fan clear.

    @electrineer I thought that every house/office/car/road /coffeshop had a dust problem

    @electrineer True, but it works very well with certain cases. I like my NZXT H510 for that and it's fairly small

    @pmso "What do you mean? I only need to clean it every day..." (Please send help)

    @Jilano well, that case is made to be looked at. It would not make any sense to have it somewhere you don't constantly look at it.

    mine is in a rack in the basement, so... ok i guess?

    @mysth have you had your PC case on the floor and all the components outside the case on the desk?

    The dust accumulation depends on your indoor air quality and how the case ventilation and filtration is set up. In a good situation you have to only clean up the filters couple times every year and there's little dust inside the case.

    Hot, as always

    I hate all this PC culture, I'm really sick and tired of not being able to express how I really feel. Like ooooo big deal I like to hang human fingers from my ceiling? I mean where are my rights?!

    @electrineer My bad, I realised how confusing my comment was too late. I meant about the negative air pressure. I have it sitting on the floor because I'd rather have more space on my desk, besides, I'm not find of RGBs so everything is turned off.

    But the air flow is pretty good, IMO! I have two Be Quiet! Silent Wings 3 PWM (high speed) as exhausts, and it works wonderfully.

    Tower always on the floor. A desktop can double as a monitor raiser but it is generally louder there (proximity, without separator and amplified by desk) in some bad design cases you can feel fan vibrations trough the desk.

    Why would there be more dust when it's on the floor than 1m up? (Genuine question, can only think of heavier particles)

    @electrineer that's what she said.

    (Holes, intake, ...)

    Sometimes when you have limited space that's what you got to do. When I lived in a dorm that's what I had to do.
