    @jespersh I was wondering if that was a switch, but those look like regulators. Also, the board looks kinda custom

    @ScriptCoded board is very custom, those are not regulators though, those are IO expanders and optocouplers. My dad and I are building a digital potentiometer.

    @r20408e122449d that’s my dad’s working board. It’s shielded painted plywood and it’s been holding for like fucking 20 years, this piece of wood is older than me. It’s so heavily used that it has incredible deep scratches. We’re not getting rid of it anytime soon and I am glad 😎

    @OmerFlame Volume controll or what? I just cant imagine the usecase of digital potentiometer. I mean which part will you rotate? :D

    @blindXfish here is a good example.

    What if you want to save the current state of the potentiometer to a file and then digitally change the value? That’s where digital potentiometers come in. You have analog control (using an analog rotary potentiometer) over the digipot and also digital, code-based control over the digipot (savestates, etc).
