When you create a website how do you get it with your choosen domain in the internet, do you need own server or something?

    Seems like this could've been easily Googled...

    But anyway, you need to buy the domain from a registrar, and then forward it to wherever your server lives. Your host need not be the same as your registrar.

    If you need a registrar that's efficient and easy use bluehost. I've heard host gator is pretty simple to use and ramp up as well.

    I started to use digital ocean. They offer low price virtual machines.
    If you need dedicated servers you can check hetzner's

    or you can try heroku or google apps engine, they both have basic free plans no strings attached, see if you like the service

    You need to setup apache. Put your web files inte the /var/www folder...

    Then, open your ports on the router, your website is reachable by your ip.

    Now, to connect that IP to an url, you need a DNS-Provider
