Bought a Dell laptop, didn't work properly. Returned, got another one. The second one has the same issues.
Why? It's been two months and fuck ton of stress, can't recommend Dell to anyone.

I'll probably get my money back and buy laptop that works as intended.

In a previous job, I was given a Dell ultrabook. Inside 6 months, I'd had to have the motherboard replaced twice and it overheated so much it melted the built-in Wi-Fi chip. They tried to cram too much into too small a space without sufficient cooling. Terrible machine.

Company decided on MacBooks all round. Maintenance overhead disappeared. Not looking to start any rows, but those are simply the facts.

What laptop and what issues? I just bought a 15" Inspiron and it had issues with the touchpad freezing, but updated the driver and it was better. I love my little Dell.

I had a similar issue. Bought the XPS 15. First order was randomly cancelled. Second kept BSOD and had a broken keyboard
Opted for a third attempt. Had it for around 8 months now. Appears to still be working okay. Although I did have to completely wipe and reinstall Windows to fix an update issue :(

@samk I wound't be able to design a laptop, so I'm saying it as a layman. The laptop has a problem with its wireless connection, not sure what it is. So, I opened it and there's aluminium foil covering everything but the battery, supposedly so the heat doesn't flow to your legs. Though I'm pretty sure that fucks with the wireless connection.
The first one also has a faulty speaker and the second one 50% of the time won't boot.

@sylar182 It's a Inspiron Special 14 skylake. It's supposed to be the Inpiron top of the line laptop but it's shit.

@itsdaniel0 Did you have to deal with a shit ton of bureaucracy? Horrible customer service.

@grublle Was I dead before devRant? Is this what's being implied?

I think I'm gonna get a proper (laptop) workstation but they're all Kaby Lane now and I wanted to make it a hackintosh.
    Anyway, fuck Dell.

@flyingbangtan in the dev world, yes, which is all that matters.

@grublle It was company hardware, so not personally. But there were a fair few hours to their CS team, failing to resolve a lot of the issues
