The WiFi/Bluetooth chip in my SP3 died. Now I have to plug in this stupid adapter in my only USB port. So, that being said...

Ranters, best 2-in-1 convertible laptop, go!

You can probably swap that chip.

I looked up steps to open up the Surface and apparently just cracking it open will likely break the screen. 1/10 on iFixIt.

My Surface Pro died after 2 years, Microsoft won't repair it and it seems you can only open it with a ton of patience and luck.

I learned my lesson, I won't buy another ultrabook convertible crap with all the stuff glued and soldered together.
After all a normal laptop isn't that much heavier and the touchscreen is redundant in most situations.

@deadlyRants As a student, I rely on the touchscreen to take notes for classes and draw up mockups for clients. But I don't want a detached screen. I'm looking for a laptop that flips into a tablet position.

You can use an USB hub to split your remaining port to multiple ones. Not all hope is lost!
