Some people do, and it still breaks at the worst possible moment.

That being said though, while it's nice on some level, it simply shouldn't be required for this work. I don't care what someone's face looks like, I care if they can code and work as a team.

Most of the people join from browser and hence because of permission for the website to access camera it doesn't work. But why interviewers need to see the face of the interview. If they are going to cheat they can ask some to stand behind the laptop and answer them.
