The company I work at first started with AIM ( about 3 years ago). They still use it for most of the departments in the company while other departments use slack. We only switched to slack a year ago, and we are still 'testing' the waters with it, even though everyone loves it. Anytime we hire a new dev they are told to create an AIM account still and use our slack, which still blows my mind.

We use Skype. It's not perfect, but we're highly integrated with Microsoft software because we're in education, so it makes the most sense. Our next dev project is to move our trouble ticketing from Microsoft Outlook tasks and emails to a database with a somewhat better interface. Slack is the last thing we need to worry about

    That's a very ignorant statement.

Sorry peeps, but I never said anything about devs that DON'T USE SLACK. Lol, the words "don't know" were typed out so diligently and gracefully. So it's as "ignorant" as those who misread my "rant".

@linuxxx, my company uses Cisco Spark which has end-to-end encryption. It's one of slacks biggest competitors. I really like it.

@Jase Yes, it's THAT AND it allows you to format code and track conversations....it's a good ol' time.
