They also make our front-end/mobile development lives hell. Why can't you be straightforward you piece of shit? Why does Microsoft deviate from the dev norm in a worse way?!

But I run .NET in linux... Why is .NET bad? I have found it to be a joy to work with.

Sounds like your back end folks might not be up to speed on what you need. What are they trying to do, deliver SOAP messages to the front end or something like that? They likely just need some help understanding what best practices for providing data to a front end might be.
