Fail.

Just total fail.

I bet you it takes a second for people to recognize why this is an issue.

    "at no extra cost" - apart from the extra cost
  • 4
    I don't see it.

    Additionally, you're getting ads even though you're paying a subscription?? Not cool. Not even Disney pulls this sort of crap.

    @ojt-rant bingo.

    '5 extra dollars and no ads ! when we could just give you a free option with ads.. like TV'.
  • 1
    @ojt-rant I actually am applauding peacock and tubitv and imdbtv.

    even if only one of them has any decent content.
    they use paid ads that last a minute at a time if you're a cheapscate but still want to watch things and thats a'ok with me.

    although personally for economic reasons I think we should rethink streaming media we don't have an intention of keeping.

    $999/month + ads!
    Sounds like a bargain to me!
  • 1
    @AvatarOfKaine I'd actually prefer non 4K streams but without ads for 9.99. I don't have a 4K TV, I don't plan on getting one any time soon, so I don't think it's too much of an unreasonable request.

    I'm saying all this - I'm in Europe so I don't even get this one anyway!

    @ojt-rant hey you guys get some cool ass channels from england over there.

    not sure about the remainder of european television though.

    On a lighter note...

    Fuck python.

    mcon = mysql.connector.connect(user="...", database="....", password=''....')

    res = mcon.cmd_query('select * from msg;')
    # FUCKING STUPID !!!!
    rows = None

    # I THINK PYTHON HAS BEEN DESIGNED TO FAIL
    # THE C API MAKES MORE SENSE OR DID.
    if 'columns' in res:
    rows = mcon.get_rows()

    Bad CSS: The width of the bullet-text is too small!

    This is why people pirate.

    @Root yes there are many temptations in this world to call people on their bullshit. there really are.

    @AvatarOfKaine I'm living in mainland europe now (no longer live in the UK).

    If you genuinely like British TV you should check out tvmucho.com . Live british TV for less than the price of HBO max. It includes a catch-up service too.
    There ARE ads however - but not as many as you get in America.
  • 1
    @ojt-rant i should say i like SOME british tv.
    just like I like some canadian tv.

    at this point you have to wonder at the difference really with streaming services.

    and then there is netlfix which produces mostly shit.

    @AvatarOfKaine python is awesome.
    (Btw, how about using SQLAlchemy)
  • 0
    @darkwind Are people using python in some class and just end up ragging on it all the time? Or forced to use at work? If people hate it so much why are they using it?
  • 1
    @Root Yeah, precisely. If there was a reasonably priced spotify-esque service to watch any TV / Film, then I'd happily pay it monthly. I flatly refuse to sign up for multiple crappy services like this for extortionate amounts when they serve you ads anyway, just to watch something once in a while.

    I don't get it either..

    You're literally getting full access to pretty much their entire back catalog for $14.99/month

    That's a half to a quarter of what *one* normal movie cost back in the good old days
  • 1
    @Demolishun no idea. I use at work and I am in love with its readability(if used correctly) and development speed.

    People could be having no choice and did not accept it or smth like that.

    Or they could have heard too much of rumors, watched too many bad programming memes and jokes or smth.

    You’re crazy
