Why do the java people say that java is superior over C#, when in fact it is more or less the same language? I never hear C# guys crying that their language is better, but I hear java guys all the time. And the fact is even that C# has more language features IMO makes it a better language. .Net is more or less the same as the Java API but we have had DateTime objects and a lot of good things, that Java is now copying, for a long time. Just curious on some ideas why Java is better now and forever no matter what times infinity, but why? And if someone is so stupid as to write that Java is the better language without reading this far then that proves my point. ps. Now that .Net and C# is being open sourced there is not the open source argument anymore either

    @RazorSh4rk You're right. It's the same shit and also requires JVM and is a compiled language, not prototype oriented, but object oriented.
    Also it is developed by Oracle and requires tomcat or other application server to run in web environment.

    Where do you people work/hang out? I don't hear any of these arguments anywhere except when people make posts like these here. Where I'm from, people just use what they're​ comfortable with and call that a day; none of this "my language is better than yours" nonsense.

    If you want to make server webapp and you have to do it on linux, go ahead and use c#.

    If you are linux user overall too.

    C# is great for Windows users, anything else, java.
