Mac’s window management is so fucking shit compared to Windows.

Imagine how shit something would be if it’s shitter than Windows’ shit.

Wait, windows has gotten better in the last few years?

    It's better how?
I mean by default, it's pretty shit.

And windows 11 just makes use of power toys being native instead of 3rd party despite being Microsoft's.

Yea ... let that sink in.

Yeah but have you tried out window's mac management? That is even worse!

Really missing the win + right arrow + up arrow to snap to top right on mac…

You really need to take tiling window manager into use (for example amethyst).

Honestly that was my biggest thing about Mac's GUI. For a company that prides itself on user experience I absolutely hated that I couldn't use my keyboard to snap windows around. Also when I went full screen or maximized a window that shit ended up on a completely separate desktop. Dumb.

I ended up downloading a 3rd party app to make my life easier again. And also to stop the madness of full screen windows ending up on new desktops.

@iSwimInTheC It's been some time since I last used a mac but this is what annoyed me too. But if you set up or find shortcuts for moving virtual desktops, it gets somewhat better.

I'm hazy on details and might be wrong but I think another irritant is that mac only allows two windows to be split. So the splits were mostly useless since I had a lot of screen estate wasted and had to use full screen anyway to avoid the disorienting aspect ratios.

Not trying to defend it but you actually need to double click a window on its title bar to maximize it without putting it into a new desktop.
I agree. The windows and the task bar in Windows are some of the few things that are better than in any other os.
    It’s kinda sad.

Used a tilling window manager for a few weeks, decided to go back to gnome almost tore my hair out, I don't understand why anyone uses floating window managers anymore
