Faxbook literally sent a cease-and-desist letter to the developer of an extension that unfollows everyone on your account, oh and they also ban his account.

@jespersh AFAIK you can convert the extensions with a moderate amount of time. The code remains unchanged.

That extension should also be a userscript. I bet there's no browser API used in it

this is really interesting idea for an extension, how would one find it? is it already removed from the store?

Making something like this takes like one day of work.

If everyone in this thread made their own then suddenly fb would have a half dozen or so more letters to 1. Find the address for 2. Print 3. Send out. 4. Wait for a legal response.

That letter just reads like a bs (legal) threat. A bluff if you will.

I find it hard to believe that the tool even interacts with Facebook, doesn't it simply modify what's shown on user's browser?

@wackOverflow I mean the claim that it violates ToS. How can a tool violate ToS when it's not a user of the service. The users of the extension is a different matter.

Maybe the real mistake was that the dev used their real identity on Facebook and for publishing the extension? That exposed them for bullying by Facebook's lawyers.

@wackOverflow Wrong VR headset of choice I guess. If that happened and the developer was russian, then russian law would probably help him unfuck that mess.
