If devRant ever opens up a public API I'm gonna build a dating app

That'd be interesting. I would love that.

Someone can make this, please. :D (Don't tell me to do it myself, I'm just a learning student.)

It would be nice to meet developers in a meetup :)

    But I'm ugly.

Requesting to be able to link your github (although lol mine is empty AF , just like my life)

I think this would have a pretty wide appeal amongst the people who use this site.

That said realistically if you're in software, you might want to consider dating someone who isn't the same as you. If you're logical, analytical, pedantic and so on as a result of thinking in boolean logic all day you might benefit from dating someone who is the precise opposite. They can balance you out.

What if instead of a dating app it was a networking app? You can "Swipe right" if a dev on your area looks interesting and if it's a match you can work together, there should even be an option to add them to a project you're already working on

@mvalentin I agree, why pork other software engineers when you can code with them. That's a FAR more sensible proposition.

The most depressed developer to walk the earth...@loserboi

    @runfrodorun @Letmecode not if it's a separate opt-in kind of thing
  • 0
You could do a compatibility testing by telling the couple to do projects together!

Some of us may need it, but that's what match.com is for.
We simply argue which language is better

It has an API, go for it!

    Just ask @dfox first

@Letmecode Why would you be on a dating site if you have a partner?
  • 0
@Letmecode I think it would be a massive oversight if they just enrolled everyone.

    Surely it would be opt-in.

@runfrodorun I don't view it that way as i know most developers are socially inept so can see a positive there.

I also don't see it creating a divide as it would be a separate community just with a common interest.

@runfrodorun Also i give many fucks. I take my job, colleges and industry VERY seriously.

@runfrodorun It makes sense but i am not convinced the two worlds would ever meet.

I am not saying this should happen but i can see a plus in it being like minded people is all.

Would take the anonymous out of devrant... defeating the purpose of it

What's important is how you document your code @loserboi
