It'd interesting to see the results of a similar question about git. I want to see how many people actually say "jit"
-
@ocab19 if people exist, who pronoun 'git' as 'jit', I'd like to know how they differentiate between git and jit (compiling)
-
I pronounce it on a new line like the wa .... wait ... am I in the right place?
-
Shit switch to png(ping) or svg(S-V-G) where that will become an outdated argument like floppy disk vs cds
-
With a hard "g", but given that language has many layers of interpretation, I don't mind when people pronounce with a soft "g". Some people get really pissy about it though

the-rafi318yLike an angry mother, I use its full name: "graphical interchange format! You start behaving right now!"
-
It's a graphical interchange format, not a giraffical interchange format. db.microphone.drop()
-
The creator of if says it with a soft g. Jeffrey Zeldman and many standards people also say it with a soft g. But I don't have to say it much these days because I never use them.
Seriously, how?
