OK, I've been using Ubuntu Linux for 5 years now, and I had to leave a Dell Linux for Mac today in Office.

Am I the only one who thinks Mac OS sucks!
Fine they have the best hardware, but Mac OS is slightly disappointing.

The best hardware? What? If you're talking about the chassis, fine. But by no means do they have the most powerful processors.

And even build quality of the chassis is debatable. Check out things like the HP Spectre.

Best hardware ? The only good hardware Apple has is their current mobile processor...they are selling a pc for 5k which has parts from like 2010

    getting back to the OS:
YES, when I switched from windows to Mac the OS sucked for me too. It's just about getting used to it. I mean even now sometimes when I'm using my windows laptop I get lost in the OS.

Nope, suits my workflow. Don't get me wrong, I run a Linux machine (Dell XPS 13 & Dell Optiplex 755) for serious coding and pen testing, but at my day job (lamp dev) Mac OS suits my workflow perfectly.

I don't like mac os... have never got on with it

It was fine when I had a macbook from my job, not my ideal workflow, but then my ideal workflow is pretty specific so I don't expect to get it at work at all...

@kaqqao also the animation when you minimize the window....takes ages and looks like something from a 1999 OS...and don't get me started about the loading spinner

"Pro" laptops with garbage thermals != best hardware.

I have a one year old hp spectre from work running Windows 7 pro and a personal 2012 MacBook Pro - the Mac is a far better piece of equipment and OS. I don't remember the last time I restarted it - it is that good. I don't care about animation, spinners etc..all I care about is reliability. And it takes getting used to but it's not unlike any OS or software. And Xcode is a great ide.
