    I'd say no. Especially the whole idea of human batteries. They are very inefficient compared to other energy sources. And wasting that miniscule energy on brain activity would be a huge waste in the first place. Leaving people conscious would be defeating the whole purpose of extracting energy.

    Additionally, even if the brains would still be working, using them to simulate the usual human rat-race instead of some more purposeful computing is still utterly pointless and would waste energy.

    Kinda depends on what your definition is. I mean what aspects. Add others pointed out the energy conversion thingy is a bit weird. Why bother with huge amount of computing to keep your batteries happy.
