    Typical pm/art director.

Let's not fix the shit we need to develop, let's make the buttons sparkle when someone drags a dick across the screen.

i expect this is more of a game journo incompetence and zero idea or care about games and how hey're made, rather than nintendo bullshitting.

i would understand it as "someone was constantly doing tiny tweaks, and it wasn't until past the halfpoint in development when we finally felt that yeah, now it looks the way it's supposed to".

you know, with all the iterative way how development works, and all that unimportant shit that no game journo knows anything and cares nothing about because they're too busy studying and pushing neomarxism.

    Time well spent :^)

I played it last Saturday and it’s performance was terrible. But damn was it fun to play. It would’ve been better if they didn’t spend so much time on nothing (who gives a shit about grass when you’re surrounded by moblins who want to kill you). But grass...we need grass! Optimize the grass algorithm! Sigh

    Video games are art too.

Even if it takes hundreds of iterations and requires some involvement of every team to get that damn grass right...
If you actually can get away with doing so, go for the satisfying completion - make it 100% instead of just the usual 80% to 90%!

@Midnight-shcode This probably. 100 employees = the engine team had to figure out instancing, the audio team very intricate interaction and wind sounds, animations team, art direction team, etc.

Not like 100 devs working full time on grass for half the production cycle
