C0D4669023y@Demolishun got to draw the line somewhere.
2 were at the same time, so totally got ahead of my self quicker then expected. -
bols597743yAsk the Kennedys. Then ask Alec "I Breed, Therefore I Am" Baldwin. You prolly stand a better chance asking him now before he spends the rest of his life in prison.

Depends on the factors I guess.
There is no rule pro or against in my opinion - factors like overpopulation and society in general aside - it entirely depends on whom the parent is.
Most stories of parents today make me wonder if Idiocracy wasn't an pretty accurate estimation of our future.
In general I wouldn't make money the decisive factor - from my experience in welfare, a well raised underdog is far better than a spoiled rich child.
I'd rephrase the statement: How idiot, careless and evil must a society be that we have overprotective parents and no more a society that bonds together as family? -
Hazarth95363yDepends. Childbirth rates are declining in many countries which are now actually below sustainability. So in the same manner you could ask "how stupid does one have to be to have less than 2 children" as well.
Arguably (again, depending on your country and circumstances) it is the responsible thing to do to have more than 2 children right now.
The problem of Overpopulation is now widely regarded as not a problem at all. Nature has a way of auto-balancing and humans simply stop having many children once quality of life is at a certain level. We should work more to pull people out od poverty everywhere and that on It's own shows to reduce Population growth significantly.
So really my opinion in the end is inconclusive. I plan to have 2-3 kids myself, thought I have none so far :D
I'll give you a ++ to offset the negative rating. I think It's an ok ranting material despite me disagreeing with the premise -
Linux434833yAnyway, personally I dont see a reason to get kids at all - despite me having three.
But I was a different person a couple of years ago, -
@Hazarth "The problem of Overpopulation is now widely regarded as not a problem at all. "
well, who are those people that are "widely regarding"? usually people who have no clue because they are entitled and ignorant AF, or people who have no clue because they have much more pressing concerns, like where to get the next meal.
yes, nature has ways for autobalancing. but the most probably way is "catastrophic events which kill a huge part of the population in gruesome ways" - (for example: ecosystems and therefore foodchains collapsing because we overtax them) -
Not wanting children because of global warming or overpupulation is the most degenerate thing I have ever heard ever
But at least it's a self-solving problem I guess -
@tosensei ahhh yes. The philosophy of I disagree with you so I'll assume all your sources are morons and mine aren't.
-
Hazarth95363y@tosensei It's based on views, statistics and projections of the 21st century. The whole idea of overpopulation being a problem was popularized in the mid 20s though the idea exists since the 18th century.
1st: It's well documented that women with higher education have less children than less educated women (by estimated 0-30%). Rates of education are constantly improving with growing economy.
2nd: I'd suggest reading "The Skeptical Environmentalist" by Bjørn Lomborg who lists various statistics on how population rates are dropping and argues this is due to improvements in technology and sciences
3rd: These are some interesting statistics
The decrease in number of children per woman from 1950 to 2005:
Europe 2.66 to 1.41
North America 3.47 to 1.99
Oceania 3.87 to 2.30
Central America 6.38 to 2.66
South America 5.75 to 2.51
Asia 5.85 to 2.43
Middle East & North Africa 6.99 to 3.37.
Sub-Saharan Africa 6.7 to 5.53.
This is an ongoing trend
How idiot, careless, and evil must someone be to have more than 2 children?
