This rant is to proof that we can start argument from any topic in devrant. So here's a topic:

C++

    No. Because this isn't an argument.

    @-red it can be: argv[0] = "C++";

    @-red g++ main.cpp -o main
    C++
    Guess now it is. Just humoring.

    Here it is:

    "C++ is an abomination and a spawn of the devil". It started as a simple addition over C with OOP concepts but... It keeps adding features left and right, incoherently that you don't know what to use from the language anymore. WHILE keeping most of the issues originally in C. So I don't know what kind of language this is anymore. It's a deformity.

    @rantsauce yeah but it's so fucking useful

    >any topic
    > Proceeds to pick one of the most polarizing topics, which is language supremacy

    If you want to prove that it applies to any topic you'd need to pick one that is unlikely to cause polarizing discussion on other platforms.

    Though good luck with that, because I think you can cause the same amount of discord on any platform at all, devRant is not that special, in fact I feel we are on average more civil while fighting

    You have a C++?

    Boy, better go back to school, that note is unacceptable.

    Technically, it's either C# or D, depending on whether the ++ operator has been overloaded to increment in half or full tones.

    @Fast-Nop D looked quite interesting but haven't gotten large in 15 years or so

    is a pretty cool language and an excellent standard that suffers massively from the lack of a standardized dependency management system. This stifles innovation and gives rise to enormous packages that try to do everything at once, such as the Gnome Toolkit.

    Here is something to add to the conversation:

    "There are 2 types of programming languages, those that nobody uses and those that y'all bitch ass whinny ass mfas keep complaining about, yo I did this shit for all of youse ungrateful sons of bitches, y'all wanna keep writting large apps in C? go on mfkas do it, keep doing it, smmfh(shake my mfking head)"

    Bjarne Stroustrplapltrosprltrper when asked about the impact of C++.

    Real quote, nothing was changed from the original comment he made

    @catgirldev or whether they don't use JavaScript for anything other than light webpage scripting

    I tried to learn C++ a couple of times, then gave up because it had so much stuff I had no clue what I was supposed to use or not use.
