How to get an invitation for Google Foobar:

Open google.com/ncr (Original page) and search for "Arraylist Java"
Copy the URL of the search result page and repeatedly open a new tab with that link (You can press ctrl and spam 't' and 'v')
After you open the necessary number of tabs (about 15-20, not sure), you'll get a black bar saying you're invited.

Enjoy!

I don't think this works on mobile, I'll have to try again at my desktop

@iam13islucky Didn't try it on mobile, worked for me on desktop

    @aayusharyan Are you logged in?

@billgates Haha...i have the pics but I'm not gonna post it. I don't think it is wise to prove and encourage more people to try this trick, Google is probably gonna sense something is wrong n remove if they find sudden increase in those foobar challenges. Don't wanna ruin this for everbody else. So I'd rather have skeptics stay away from this.

Btw, it takes less than a minute to get this working.

Just try it dude 😂 😋

    Works like a charm

I feel bad even for just entering :(. On the other hand, the problem isn't hard (at lest on level 1). Can't say for the other problems as I decided to leave the site.
  • 0
@specialCardinal why do you feel bad?
  • 1
OK, I have verified it works! Thanks, @kaivaiya97, you get my seal of approval... and it took me 20 minutes to pass Level 1...... :(
  • 0
@billgates Yeah, I'm stalled on it because I want it to be somewhat efficient but I can't figure out a better way to do it in java 7. I wish it was 8

@iam13islucky I actually used Python cuz... i've been coding in Python for the last week. I think it may be better cuz there's a lot convenience functions... like list comprehension, that saved me an entire function.

I'm actually using Java for level 2... I'm about to give up.... just too tired. The funny? thing is this question I've actually answered before.... on HackerRank... the sad thing is these questions look just like HackerRank...

I did one yesterday too and uh... it didn't go too well.... https://devrant.io/rants/560606/...

    Works, thanks.

@iam13islucky and now ive found my old code... but too pooped to use it....

@billgates I ended up doing it in Python cause it was so much simpler, but I'm not starting part two for a while. It's a lot of work and I don't want to miss other deadlines for this

I wonder... Perhaps this is a hidden invite to all interested devRanters...

@kaivalya97 you wouldn't happen to be a Googler, would you? 😀

    Either way thanks for this!

@Dacexi r u logged in? Did you let each tab load or u spammed them, might just show up on one of them n u missed it? I didn't need to open even close to that many tabs.
  • 0
@billgates i let each load and i looked on each for at least 3 sec to see the bar and yes, i am logged in :/

worked for me on the first try. I had searched 2 other python related terms into google search prior to coming across this thread
  • 0
Whoa! Worked by just writing ArrayList Java xD
  • 1
I'm not sure if this thread is completely inactive now, but I was hoping I could be given a link for this. I have been trying for a few weeks and I still somehow haven't gotten the 'foobar' rectangle thing to open on a Google search. I have been programming for a few years now, so I have browsed Google for information about programming many times in the past - surprising I haven't gotten it yet.

I was hoping to try the foobar challenge too

can confirm this still works as of March 2,2020.

I searched around for google foobar challege at first.
and then searched for python stuff randomly like
    "list comphrension python"
    "courouties python"

    whatever i could think of.

Finally it appeared with "arraylist java"

It works. Here is a screenshot of the challenge.
